Operation Limit results- Southend and Rochford

Operation Limit continues to target the behaviours most likely to cause death or serious injury on Essex roads, focusing on tackling drink and drug driving alongside other high-risk offences, combining enforcement with the wider education and prevention work of the Safer Essex Roads Partnership (SERP).

On Saturday, Essex Police carried out a further Operation Limit across Southend and Rochford, with significant results:

  • 100 Traffic Offence Reports issued, mainly for excess speed
  • 150 speed offences across a range of roads
  • 13 vehicles seized for no insurance or licence offences
  • 20 arrests, including 15 for drink or drug driving
  • 19 intelligence reports submitted

These results highlight the ongoing risks posed by the Fatal Four– speeding, drink and drug driving, not wearing a seatbelt, and mobile phone use, and the importance of continued enforcement.

Every enforcement action, every conversation, and every intervention supports Vision Zero, a future where no one is killed or seriously injured on Essex roads.
