National Driver Offender Re-training Scheme (NDORS)

Working as part of SERP, Essex County Council provides the following NDORS courses on behalf of Essex Police:

National Speed Awareness Course (NSAC)
National Driver Alertness Course (NDAC)
What’s Driving Us (WDU)
Driving for Change (D4C)
Rider Intervention and Developing Experience (RIDE)
National Speed Awareness 20 Course (NSAC 20)
Your Belt/Your Life

These courses are delivered by qualified and licensed NDORS trainers at venues throughout Essex.

Further details on each course can be found on the links above.

The purpose of the National Speed Awareness Course (NSAC) is to give eligible offenders the opportunity to attend a course as an alternative to the Fixed Penalty system of a £100 fine and three penalty points to be endorsed on their licence. In some situations it could prevent a summons to attend court being issued.

In order to successfully complete a course a client must attend in a fit state to participate and complete the course (theory or practical) and not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including any medication prescribed by a healthcare professional. The client must remain at the course for the whole of the scheduled running time of the course. If a client is not in a fit state to participate, are disruptive or fails to participate they may be asked to leave the course and their case returned to the Police.

Full terms and conditions are available on the respective course pages as above.

Essex County Council in the delivery of all NDORS courses is aware of and reacts to numerous variations in client requirements.

Special arrangements can be made for:

  • Breast feeding parents
