Firstly, we would like to thank our residents for contributing journey camera footage to Extra Eyes, a service that supports us in our objective of Vision Zero, no deaths or serious injuries on Essex roads, by 2040.
Over the last 12 months, from cyclists alone, we have processed over 814 notices of intended prosecution, which is around 46% of our total submissions.
The SERP appreciates every submission made, but unfortunately, the desired outcome is not always guaranteed.
We understand it is disappointing after efforts have been made, to receive a no further action notice (NFA).
NFA means the evidence provided did not meet all the Extra Eyes criteria and therefore, would not provide a good chance of conviction if contested in court. An NFA does not necessarily mean the team believed there was nothing wrong with the standard of driving.
We remind all our valued users of Extra Eyes to familiarise themselves with the Extra Eyes guidelines and continue to thank the public for their continued support in keeping Essex roads safe.
