Community Engagement Highlights
Summer Safety Day – Southend Seafront
The SERP team attended this popular event, engaging with residents and tourists on key issues including pedestrian awareness and the safe, legal use of e-scooters. We had meaningful conversations with families, all centred around staying safe near the road.
Essex Police Family Fun Weekend – Chelmsford Headquarters
This weekend, the team took part in the Essex Police Sports Association Family Fun Weekend, speaking with hundreds of residents about our work. Many were already aware of our goals, while others were introduced to Vision Zero for the first time. We also connected with children and families, sharing advice on young driver safety, pedestrian awareness and road safety for horse riders. Our high-visibility bags were a hit with parents looking to keep their children seen and safe.
A Shared Commitment to Safer Roads
Every conversation, every enforcement checkpoint, and every community interaction this week helps us move closer to our ultimate goal: Vision Zero– the ambition to eliminate all deaths and serious injuries on Essex roads by 2040.
Together, we can build a culture of responsibility, respect, and safety on every road in our county.
