Drivers were reminded of the importance of slowing down, particularly during the busy summer season.

Community Engagement and Southend Vision Zero Day

A dedicated day of action took place in Southend, combining enforcement and public engagement:

  • 147 offences recorded including speeding, with a top speed of 50mph in a 30mph, seatbelt use, and mobile phone use.
  • 32 eyesight checks completed, with one resulting in licence revocation.

The team visited local schools, high streets, and businesses, speaking to over 230 members of the public.

There was a lot of public interaction, with residents asking the team to come back more often, and thanking them for attending.

Every conversation, every check, every interaction make our roads safer. Whether you’re driving, riding, or walking- your actions matter.
