There Are No Respawns: One Choice. One Life.
You can reset a game. You cannot reset a life.
Every time you get behind the wheel, you make a choice. One split-second decision can change everything.
Our latest speed awareness campaign, There Are No Respawns, challenges young drivers across Essex to rethink speed. In a video game, you get unlimited lives, second chances, and restart buttons. Real life doesn't have a reset option. There are no second chances on our roads.
Real Skill Isn't Speed
The campaign uses gaming-inspired visuals to confront the life-changing consequences of speeding. True driving skill isn't about how fast you can go. Real skill is staying in control and getting everyone home safely.
We want to challenge the social acceptance of speeding among young men. We urge you and your friends to use positive peer influence. Speak up, challenge risky behaviour, and make safer choices every time you travel.
Power in Numbers: Essex Creators Step Up
To help spread this vital message, the Safer Essex Roads Partnership (SERP) has teamed up with four Essex-based content creators:
Reid Card
Aki Suthakar
Jodi Stottor
Reaching hundreds of thousands of young people across social media, these creators are using their platforms to encourage their followers to support their mates and look out for each other on the road. Look out for the campaign hitting Essex cinemas, social media, and digital platforms this summer.
Ben’s Story: "My car crash changed my whole life"
Ben Wilson knows exactly how quickly life can change when you speed.
Nine years ago, a serious collision left Ben with seven broken bones and a traumatic brain injury. Today, he still battles memory problems and extreme fatigue. Because of his injuries, he will never be able to return to full-time work.
