Pokémon GO – But #LookBeforeYouCatch

The Safer Essex Roads Partnership (SERP) has issued a warning to ‘phone zombies’ hooked on the Pokémon Go game.

The mobile phone game is the latest craze and involves walking around and ‘catching’ a variety of Pokémon characters across the UK.

But SERP are concerned people may be more interested in their phone than looking at where they are going.

We have seen how it has hooked children and adults alike and were are concerned people are forgetting to put their safety first.

Please remember that your safety comes before catching that Drowzee or Squirtle. Let someone know where you’re going, be aware of your surroundings and follow all normal road safety advice.

For car drivers playing – we hope it goes without saying but under no circumstances is it OK to catch Pokémon whilst you’re driving.

Happy Pokémon Hunting!
