From first car to dream car

Ever wondered what car cash-laden celebs started driving before they got the keys to their Mercedes CLK with personalised number plate, leather trim, custom gold alloys, subwoofers…

Aaron Ramsey, Arsenal midfielder: “When I turned up at the Arsenal training ground for the first time, I realised I had to get rid of my lime green Fiesta. That had to go. I hope no-one knew about it.”

Kevin Pietersen, England cricketer: “Mum and Dad gave me an old Nissan Pulsar. It was a real clapped-out, little car. I bought an Aston Martin DB9 for £135,000 a few years ago. It’s one of those cars you grow up dreaming of owning, having watched all the James Bond films.”

Paul Sackey, England rugby star: “I’ve always had stylish wheels – my first ever car was a Mercedes CLK. My ultimate is the Pagani Zonda, but who can justify spending £700,000 on a car? Well, I could. But not yet.”

Simon Pegg, actor: “When I made a bit of money I bought a Mazda MX-5, which cost about £12,000. I’ve changed it since for a newer one, but now I fancy the Jaguar XK. I am determined to get one.”

James Corden, actor: ‘If money was suddenly no object I’d go for an Aston Martin DB9 or the Aston Martin Vanquish tourer. They’re beautifully sleek, sexy motors. I’d also happily settle for a Porsche 911 or the Audi R8, an amazing mid-engined sports car. Nothing wrong with dreaming, is there?”
